Who we are
Mermaid Braids is run by Stardust Beauty Pty Ltd (ABN 24 608 221 530), Gold Coast, Queensland. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, contact us, book a mobile appointment or follow us on social media.
What we collect
When you enquire or book, we collect what you give us: your name, email, phone number, the appointment address (home or hotel), and the styles, colours and first names of the people being braided.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
Our website may record basic technical information such as pages visited and browser type.
How we use it
We use your information only to answer your enquiry, arrange and confirm your appointment, send appointment reminders by SMS or email, take payment and keep business records. We do not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that help us run bookings: our payment processor (Stripe), our booking, email, calendar and SMS providers, and our own stylists who need the appointment details. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Photos and social media
We share photos of our braiding on Instagram and Facebook. Photos of children show only the back of the head or the hair itself, never an identifiable face, unless a parent has given written consent. If you would like a photo removed, contact us and we will take it down.
If you message us on Instagram or Facebook, Meta's own privacy policy also applies to those platforms.
Keeping it safe
We keep your information only as long as we need it for bookings and our legal and tax records, and we take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss or unauthorised access.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, including any data received through our Instagram or Facebook accounts. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
